Samudrika Naval Marine Museum

Samudrika Naval Marine Museum, managed by the Indian Navy, is located opposite to the Andaman Teal House in Port Blair. The museum has 5 sections divided into history, geography of the islands, people, marine life and archeology. This museum provides awareness on various aspects of oceanic environment; the museum also has a wide collection of shells, corals and many species of fish. This place exhibits a complete collection of corals found in this island. Apart from corals you can also see several types of shells that are usually found near the sea. The Samudrika Naval Maritime Museum of Andaman & Nicobar Islands preserves over 350 species of varieties types of marine species. Andaman & Nicobar Islands also preserves the history of the marine culture of the region. The museum is open from 09:00 to 12:00 hrs and 14:00 to 17:00 hrs except on Mondays. Read more....
