Mud Volcano

Mud Volcano located on Baratang Island looks hot but it is cool. Temperatures may be as low as the freezing point of the ejected fluid. It is the only well known example of mud volcanoes in India. Local people call it as “Jalki”. The Baratang Island is situated about 90 Kms from port blair. In the travel to Bratang Island from Port Blair one can see people of Jarwa tribe.
